Find out more about the Renault Twingo
Presented at the beginning of March and due to go on sale in autumn 2020, the electric Renault Twingo completes the manufacturer’s electric range in a more urban segment, and promises a range of 190 km.
Unlike the ZOE, which is based on the Clio 4 with specific features, the Renault Twingo electric inherits the same features as its internal combustion counterparts. This is a way for the Renault brand to save money by facilitating the industrialization of the model.
For its new electric Twingo, Renault is using a power unit derived from the ZOE. The 60 kW (81 hp) rear-mounted unit is as powerful as its cousin, the Smart EQ Forfour. Under the floor, the engine means no loss of space in the trunk, which has a maximum volume of 240 liters. The 160 Nm of torque is sent to the rear wheels, as with petrol engines. 0-50 km/h is achieved in 4.2 seconds, but the car’s weight is as yet unknown.
