Each cell has a capacity of 50 Ah and a nominal voltage of 3.75 volts. The battery weighs about 200 kg. The battery has a forced air cooling system to prevent overheating during high charge and discharge rates and consequent damage. There is a fan built into the battery.

The Citroën C-Zero has been equipped with an improved charging system, which allows the battery to be charged up to 50 kW in alternating current (AC), allowing up to 80% of the battery charge to be recovered in about 30 minutes.
