The MG5 is an electric estate car that will be launched on the French market in early 2022, and has been hailed as the first of its kind in Europe. The vehicle is available in two versions, Standard Range and Extended Range. It offers a maximum range of 320 km in the standard version and 400 km in the extended version.

This model has a modernised design, with more dynamic exterior lines, particularly at the front, and a slightly raised silhouette. The rear of the car features sculpted lights and rounded shapes.

Under the bonnet, the MG5 is powered by an engine producing 130 kW of power for the Standard Range version, compared with 115 kW for the Extended Range version.

In terms of performance, the car accelerates from 0 to 100 kph in 8.3 seconds (for both versions) and reaches a top speed of 185 kph. What’s more, the estate consumes between 179 and 184 Wh/km on the Standard Range version and between 175 and 179 Wh/km on the Extended Range version.

Battery of the MG MG5 version : Autonomie standard

The MG G5 Autonomie standard battery, with a useful capacity of 50.3 kWh, can be charged in two different ways. One is alternating current and the other direct current.

Using a Type 2 connector, it can be charged up to a maximum of 11 kW in alternating current (AC), enabling it to be charged from 0 to 100% in 4 hours and 22 minutes. This AC charge is three-phase.
For rapid direct current (DC) charging, the CCS connector offers a maximum power of 87 kW, enabling the vehicle to be fully charged in 40 minutes.

The MG G5 Extended Range battery has a usable capacity of 50.3 kWh and can be recharged in two different ways. On the one hand, it can be supplied with alternating current, while on the other, it can be supplied with direct current.

Using a Type 2 connector, the battery can be recharged to a maximum of 11 kW alternating current (AC), allowing the battery to be fully recharged from 0 to 100% in 4 hours and 22 minutes. Note that this AC charge is carried out in three phases.

For rapid direct current (DC) charging, the CCS connector offers a maximum power of 100 kW, enabling the battery to be fully recharged in 40 minutes.
